Trailer Of Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’ Faces Severe Backlash From Audiences

The trailer of Sanjay DuttAlia Bhatt, and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Sadak 2: The Road To Love dropped on Wednesday, August 12. While some of the social media users have appreciated the trailer and are awaiting the film’s release, most of the users have expressed their displeasure almost instantly by disliking the video, making it one among the list of ‘Most Disliked YouTube Videos’. The trailer is said to have reached the 15th spot on the list within 24 hours of its release on YouTube. It currently stands with 6 million dislikes as against 3.3 lakh likes.

This backlash is part of a sustained social media campaign that is keeping the debate around nepotism in Bollywood going. The reason for this campaign is that many fans believe it to be the reason behind Sushant Singh Rajput‘s suicide.

Several media reports were circulating that the actor was dropped from multiple projects by top production houses and the roles were instead offered to the star kids. The investigation around the actor’s death has been handed over to the CBI and as the investigation progresses, there are many shocking revelations coming to the fore.

Sadak 2 helmed by Mahesh Bhatt, is the sequel to the director’s 1991 hit film Sadak. The stars of the original film, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, will also be a part of the sequel that is being bankrolled by Mukesh Bhatt under his home banner Vishesh Films and by Fox Star StudiosSadak 2 also marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return as a director after 20 years.

The film reportedly revolves around love, loss, and redemption. Alia’s character will embark on a journey with Sanjay Dutt’s character to expose a fake godman in the film. Apart from the lead, Jisshu SenguptaGulshan Grover, Makarand Deshpande, Priyanka Bose, Mohan Kapur, Akshay Anand, and several others have landed significant roles in the film.

As on publishing, the negative trend is still on, with users aiming for the video to top the list of ‘Most Disliked YouTube Videos’. They have also been trending the hashtag #Sadak2dislike, calling for other users to do the same. There is section of people, however, who are also disliking the video because they are disappointed with the story in comparison to the original.
