Zero is a supernatural thriller, directed by Shiv Mohaa. Starring Ashwin Kakumanu and Sshivada Nair, the trailer of the film was released on January 29 by director Mohan Raja, of Thani Oruvan fame. Producer G Dhananjayan has purchased the distribution rights of Zero and will be distributing it through his banner Blue Ocean Entertainment.
The trailer begins with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s voice over. He says, “Do you know how the world was created? At first, there was nothing except God.” A huge explosion is followed by shots of planet Earth, a man, a woman, and a spooky snake which pops up on the screen. A beautifully set shot featuring Sshivada Nair and Ashwin Kakumanu shows us the lead pair falling in love. It’s engrossing to watch. Breezy romantic scenes follow. And then suddenly, with jolting background sounds, we see retina-less people wandering around, and Sshivada being possessed by a spirit. Or many.
With extensive CG graphics, the Zero trailer promises a quality supernatural thriller. There are references to past lives and connections between imagination and reality. A whole new world completely developed through CG effects explains the delay in the release of the film. Horror films have dominated the industry for the past two years, but the Zero trailer looks different from all the previous horror films. It promises to be a no-nonsense, quality horror thriller.
Zero stars actors JD Chakravarthy, Tulasi and Ravi Raghavendra in supporting roles. The technical team includes music director Nivas K Prasanna, cinematographer Babu Kumar and editor Sudharshan.
