Vijay Accepts Mahesh Babu’s Challenge And Plants A Sapling As A Part Of The ‘Green India Challenge’

On Sunday, actor Mahesh Babu celebrated his 45th birthday on Sunday amidst a lot of by taking up the ‘Green India Challenge’, an initiative ideated by Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar J that calls for the planting of a tree sapling to make a greener India for tomorrow while also nominating three others to continue the chain. The actor shared a video of himself planting a sapling at his Hyderabad house on Twitter and further went on to nominate actors Jr. NTRShruti Haasan and in a first, actor Vijay.

While the rest of the actors are yet to respond, Vijay has promptly taken up the challenge and planted a sapling at his house. The actor shared photos of the same on his Twitter, which went viral, just like every other post of his, within minutes of its release. Vijay wrote, “This is for you @urstrulyMahesh garu. Here’s to a Greener India and Good health. Thank you #StaySafe”.

To this, Mahesh commented, “Thanks a lot brother for taking this up. Stay safe!”.

It is a known fact that Mahesh and Vijay have been good friends for many years. It is also noteworthy that Mahesh’s Okkadu and Pokiri were remade in Tamil starring Vijay as Ghilli and Pokkiri respectively, and were huge hits in both languages.

Elated with Vijay’s response, fans of both stars have been tweeting and commenting in excitement. Vijay fans are additionally excited about witnessing the complete lockdown look of their ‘Thalapathy’ after images of the actor on a video call with his friends for Friendship Day went viral recently.

Meanwhile, Vijay is awaiting the release of his Master which was supposed to hit screens in May but delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will hit screens post lockdown when theatres open up.
