Akshara Haasan Offered A Role In Ajith’s AK 57; Here’s What She Said

Akshara Haasan has been approached to play a role in Ajith Kumar 57. The actress, who is assisting actor and father Kamal Haasan on Sabash Naidu, has not yet made a decision. “At present, I have many offers to act. I am trying to make a choice,” she told Silverscreen.in. Akshara’s sister Shruthi played the female lead in the last Ajith film, Vedalam, directed by Siva. A representative of the director said, “If she accepts, she will play a trendy role in the film. She doesn’t play the sister character, but has a crucial role to play in the film.”

Akshara made her acting debut with Shamitabh last year, after director R Balki convinced her to accept the offer. In an interview, she had said: “Acting didn’t happen by chance. I was actually not ready to be an actor; I decided to be one around a year or a year-and-half ago. Shortly after I decided to be an actor, I got Shamitabh. I wasn’t ready to be an actor because it’s a different ball game altogether. In fact, I still have to explore a lot more. So I’m biding my time.”

After the film’s release, rumours surfaced that Akshara would be a part of Sandakozhi 2. However, the actress denied that she had been approached for the film.

Early in her career, Akshara had notably rejected an offer from Mani Rathnam to act in Kadal, choosing instead to pursue direction. She assisted Rahul Dholakia in Society, and worked with several advertising filmmakers. Akshara’s father has always been vocal about her love for filmmaking. In an interview, Kamal Haasan said,”I think she is more keen on filmmaking than acting. Every time Akshara stands behind the camera and says, ‘This is where I want to be’, I am reminded of myself.”
