Actor Sasi Kalinga, who has acted in Malayalam films like Pranchiyettan And The Saint, Amen and Amar Akbar Anthony, has joined the cast of a Hollywood film directed by veteran filmmaker Steven Spielberg. The film stars Tom Cruise.
Earlier, actor Aju Varghese had confirmed longstanding rumours about Kalinga’s Hollywood project through a Facebook post:
“Proud moment of Indian cinema our dear Sasi Etta :)))Presently working on a Hollywood film produced by Steven Spielberg along with Tom Cruse in lead :)) What more can we ask for???,” said Aju.
When contacted, Kalinga told Silverscreen.in that he was not at liberty to disclose details of the project or his role as per his contract with the production company. “I have been getting countless phone calls after the news about this Hollywood film appeared on a website. I am a part of it, but I can say nothing more than that as I have signed a contract with the production company to not reveal any information on media,” he said.

A Deccan Chronicle report, dated July 30 2015, had said that Kalinga was approached by Spielberg’s team while he was shooting for Kamal’s Gadhama in Dubai. Kalinga will play a jewish man in the film.
As is common for most of Hollywood’s biggest projects, the film is being produced in secrecy. According to some reports from Western media outlets, the film’s shooting is currently going on in Birmingham.
