Radikaa Sarathkumar Talks About Her Controversial Coke Ad

Actress-producer Radikaa Sarathkumar, whose 2005 Coke ad received flak after it resurfaced on social media a couple of days back, has issued a clarification in Maalai Malar about her participation in the ad. “I can understand your feelings. The ad was made in 2005. Aamir Khan acted in the Hindi version of it. I understand the furore over me supporting such a company, but I cannot talk more about it at this time,” she’s quoted as saying. The ad, unsurprisingly, has resurfaced at a time when Tamil Nadu is gearing up for a total ban on soft-drinks after the much publicised Jallikattu protests in the State.

The 53-year-old actress, campaigning for the soft-drink brand in the advertisement, visits one of the factories of Coca Cola. Radikaa vouches for the drink in the video, and calls it “safe”.

Social media has since seen a number of memes attacking the Vani Rani actress for being a part of the promotional campaign.
