Anushka Sharma’s film Pari, a home production that she stars in, was the only major release on March 2. With Friday being a holiday (Holi) in most parts of North India, the film managed to overshadow another release from the same day, Veerey Ki Wedding starring Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda.
Pari, directed by Prosit Roy, also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajat Kapoor, and Ritabhari Chakraborty. The film, despite a limited release in South India owing to a film industry strike, has earned over Rs 4 crores on its opening day.
#Pari started slow in morning shows [some theatres were closed due to #Holi celebrations], but picked up – at metros mainly – as the day progressed… Evening/night shows reported better occupancy… Fri ₹ 4.36 cr, despite no-release in some South markets… India biz.
