Following actor Silambarasan’s request to his fans to put up cut-outs and perform paal abhishekam during the release of his film Vantha Rajavathan Varuven, the president of Tamil Nadu Milk Dealers Employees Welfare Association has said that he will be filing a complaint against the actor with the Chennai City commissioner.
Speaking to Silverscreen, SA Ponnusamy said: “When top heroes like Simbu trigger fans, it might lead to unnecessary fan fights and create law and order issues. Earlier when Simbu asked his fans not to perform paal abhishekam to his cutouts, we were the first to appreciate him. But now, the actor doesn’t seem concerned about his fans and the general public, and would rather indulge in publicity stunts. Every actor including Simbu wants their fans to do whatever they say,” he said, adding: “The youth of today listens to their stars rather than their parents, and even sets their parents on fire for their stars. The stars should know their responsibility and act accordingly. They should encourage good deeds.”
Ponnusamy also said that milk cans are stolen by fans during the release of films. “T Rajender, father of Simbu, had earlier asked fans not to waste milk. But now, his son wants his fans to pour gallons of milk over his cutouts. During the release of these stars’ film, fans steal milk cans and we are left with no cash. We have even submitted the CCTV footage of people stealing milk cans to the police and yet, no action has been taken against it. So we are now filing a complaint against the actor for supporting such behaviour.”
During the release of the Ajith Kumar starrer Viswasam and Rajinikanth starrer Petta, Ponnusamy had filed a petition with The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Commissioner of Police and the Tamil Nadu government to initiate criminal proceedings against actors who don’t try to prevent milk wastage during the release of their films.
