Aishwarya Rajesh will reprise her role of a budding cricketer in the Telugu remake of last year’s Kanaa, making this her third project in the industry. Titled Kowsalya Krishnamurthy… Cricketer, the movie has already gone on floors, reports Cinema Express.
Kanaa, featuring Rajesh and Sathyaraj as a father-daughter duo, marked actor Sivakarthikeyan’s foray into production. The film was directed by lyricist-turned-director Arunraja Kamaraj, and was about a girl who takes inspiration from her father and dreams about being a cricketer. Kanaa released during Christmas and went on to become a critical and commercial success.
The movie now has a Telugu remake that will be directed by Bhimaneni Sreenivas Rao and produced by KS Ramarao. The dialogues will be by KGF fame Hanuman Chowdary. The cast includes actors Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Jhansi, Shashank and Rangasthalam Mahesh. Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who scored the music for the original, has been retained as the music composer for the movie.
Aishwarya Rajesh had already announced her Telugu debut opposite Vijay Devarakonda.

Directed by Kranthi Madhav of Onamalu fame, the yet-to-be-titled film also features Raashi Khanna and Izabelle Leite in the lead. It is rumoured to be a comedy, produced by KS Rama Rao under the banner of Creative Commercials. Music is composed by Gopi Sundar.
Her second Telugu film was also announced recently. Directed by NV Nirmal Kumar, the movie features Uday Shankar, who is known for his role in Aata Kadara Shiva, and has also directed the Tamil film Salim.
The movie, a family drama, will be produced by Adiroh Creative Signs. The launch happened in January, and was attended by Allu Aravind, Karunakaran, Dolly, and Chandra Siddhartha, among others.

Sriram Raju and Bharat Ram, the producers of the movie, said, “It is a holistic family drama with a sports element. The shoot has begun and we are planning to release the film during summer.” According to India Today, the movie is a remake of the Malayalam film Godha and the actress will be seen in the role of a wrestler.
Sanjay Swaroop, Pradeep Rawat and Roopa Lakshmi play supporting roles. The music is composed by Gifton Elias. Bhupathi Raja has written the script, and dialogues are by Madhu and Rajendra Kumar.
