Kedarnath Review: A Hindu-Muslim Love Story Toppled By Bollywood’s Populist Values

And the film gives up the opportunity to be a smart disaster drama.  There are instances where Mansoor and a few others in the valley raise their concerns about the illegal constructions in the ecologically-fragile valley, but the film uses the natural calamity as one of the tools to narrate the tragic love story.  The cloudburst and the lovers’ fate are foreshadowed in a crucial scene where the couple seeks refuge inside a cave atop a mountain on a rainy day.

Shiddat Review: An Insufferable Film on a Man Who Crosses State Borders for an Obsession

While it makes little sense to point out logical errors in a film as silly as this, one can’t help but mention the scene where Gautam, on a professional assignment, divulges the issues in his married life to an illegal immigrant in an interrogation room. The subject of illegal immigration gets a bizarre representation in Shiddat, a Hindi language film written by Shridhar Raghavan and Dheeraj Kedarnath Rattan, and directed by Kunal Deshmukh.

Haseen Dillruba Review: Taapsee Pannu’s Film on Violent Love Is Nonsensical

It is absurd that Rani, who cited amatory skills as one of her special talents in her first meeting with Rishi, cannot handle sexual tension gracefully or express her desires like a rational human being in the initial days of marriage.Unlike Manmarziyaan, which Dhillion scripted and Pannu acted in, Haseen Dillruba doesn’t attempt to explore the fatality of not being able to fall in or out of love.

Pikchar With Rita: ‘Waqt’ and Its Resonance With Present-Day Death and Destruction

Interestingly, the film begins with a celebration which is quickly marred by an earthquake and transforms into debris; like it were a lesson to Lala for his hubris; for believing that human effort alone can make life better. It occurred to me only after I finished watching the film that Waqt could have been based in Balochistan or Peshawar or the environs around.
