Straight Talk
Director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has slammed Tamil Cinema for its misogynistic attitude. “I blame films for incidents like the murder of Swathi at a busy railway station. These days, we have songs that speak ill of women and speak of abusing them. They justify violence against women and then they go on to become hits. Just like we teach girls to respect people, we should teach boys too. Only if we strongly condemn incidents such as these will our women ever be safe.”
