Karanataka’s movie ticket prices will soon not be more than Rs 200. After CM K Siddaramaiah reportedly spent over Rs 1,000 on Baahubali 2 tickets at Bengaluru’s upscale mall, his government passed an order capping cinema ticket prices at Rs 200 at single screens and multiplexes in the state.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 is now in legal trouble after Narendra Hirawat & Co filed a case against the makers. The company acquired Sarkar franchise’s copyrights after the release of the second part and is in possession of the prequel, sequel, remake and all other irreversible world negative rights in perpetuity.
“We are extremely disappointed with this move from the producers of Sarkar 3. As a cautionary step, we even issued a notice to the makers in October 2016, but they have still failed to obtain permission from us for the release of the movie,” Shreyans Hirawat, Executive Head of Narendra Hirawat & Co., said in a statement.
SS Rajamouli has been accused of hurting the sentiments of a community through the use of a “caste slur” in Baahubali 2. Members of the Arekatika Porata Samithi have filed a complaint at the Banjara Hills police station against the director for portraying their community in a bad light. The community is offended by a particular scene in which Katappa says “Katika Cheekati,” which the group claims is a caste slur.
