Mohanlal, the Malayalam actor, shared the first look poster of his upcoming Malayalam film Aaraattu on Twitter on Sunday.

The film is being directed by Unnikrishnan B and also stars Shraddha Srinath, who will play an IAS officer in the film.

In an exclusive interview with Silverscreen India, Shraddha had said, “For me, it was just the thrill of being a part of a Mohanlal film and an interesting part to play. She is an IAS officer and she is a very upright kind of a person. It was everything really. It was the genre, it was a space that I had not explored, it’s more of a commercial kind of a film. And there were all these amazing names and my character was a very interesting role to play.”
The film marks her comeback to the Malayalam film industry after five years. Speaking about working on the project she said, “You don’t miss an opportunity to work with someone like Mohanlal.”
This film marks the fifth collaboration between Mohanlal and Unnikrishnan. They had last worked together on Villain in 2017. Aaraattu has been written by screenwriter Udayakrishna, who had earlier written Mohanlal’s super hit film Pulimurugan.
Mohanlal had shared stills of him on the set after they had commenced the shoot in November in Pallakad. According to The News Minute, Mohanlal plays the character of Neyyattinkara Gopan, who travels from Neyyattinkara to Palakkad to complete a mission.

The film will also star Nedumudi Venu, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Johny Antony, Sheela, Rachana Narayanankutty, and Swasika.
Aaraattu’s music will be composed by Rahul Raj and the film will be edited by Shameer Muhammed. There is no official confirmation on the release date of the film yet.
