Actor Vadivelu Has No Political Ambitions Anymore

Recommended

Veteran Kollywood comedian Vadivelu does not have any political ambitions anymore. According to a Times Of India report, the comedian has said that his desire to join politics is a long-forgotten dream. He also said that he will re-double efforts to sign more films, and will concentrate on his film career now on.

Vadivelu had campaigned for Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), led by Karunanidhi, in 2011 assembly elections. However, DMK was defeated by J Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK in the elections, and post-election, Vadivelu was forced to stay out of the film industry for a few years.

The actor will next be seen in Vishal’s Kathi Sandai

“I don’t want to talk about politics anymore. I have spoken enough about my desire to join politics but now it’s just a topic of the past; a long-forgotten dream. My only focus for now is doing interesting comic roles,” Vadivelu was quoted as saying by TOI.

The actor had played lead roles in films such as Eli, Tenaliraman. Both projects were critical as well as commercial failure in the box office. Now, Vadivelu has committed to major roles in Vijay’s Bairavaa, Shivalingaa and will reprise his famous role as Pulikesi in Imsai Arasan 2, to be directed by Chimbu Deven. Vadivelu will also be a part of GV Prakash Kumar’s film with Lollu Sabha fame Rambala.
