The teaser of Rajinikanth’s sci-fi drama 2.0 was leaked online on Sunday morning. While the source for the leak is yet to be determined, the one-and-a-half minute teaser has been doing the rounds on social media all morning.
Rajinikanth’s daughter posted an angry tweet following the breach:

The film has around 11,000 VFX shots and each shot is being worked upon with a lot of care. On January 26, director Shankar Shanmugham had announced that the teaser work for the movie is going on in full swing.
2.0 was initially supposed to release in December last year, but was postponed to January 26. However, with PadMan‘s releasing on the same date, 2.0 was postponed again. When PadMan too got postponed owing to Padmaavat‘s release, it was later clarified that Shankar’s film would now release in April. According to reports, the film might just release in August this year.

Starring Rajinikanth, 2.0 has Akshay Kumar making his debut in Tamil cinema, playing the antagonist and Amy Jackson as the female lead. Music is by AR Rahman.
Incidentally, Rajinikanth’s other film – Kaala – had its teaser leaked the night before its official release early this week. The film is set in a Mumbai slum where Rajini’s character Kaala is the supreme leader. The teaser also features Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi and Eswari Rao. The film releases on April 27.
