The estimated box-office collection for Day 1 of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, The Conclusion is a whopping Rs 100 crore, higher than Salman Khan’s Sultan and Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The overall collection estimates go up to Rs 1000 crore. Trade analysts have termed the opening a “historic start”.

Thus far the film, which was made on a budget of Rs.300 crore, has received positive reviews from critics and fans.

Taran Adarsh, considered the expert on box-office figures, tweeted that a compilation list with all the data is currently underway.

The film opened to around 6,500 screens in India alone. The advance booking response has been tremendous with websites like BookMyShow claiming that their site crashed a couple of times when they opened it for single-screen and multiplex booking. They also said they have already sold a million tickets for the sequel.
A report in Deadline Hollywood puts the collection estimate at over $2.5 million. The movie is releasing on 330 screens in the United States and the opening day’s collections in the US were reported at $7.2 million.

The producers have clinched lucrative deals for satellite and distribution rights. It has also been released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
The film is a sequel to Baahubali, The Beginning (2015), and released two years after the first film. Due to extensive post-production work, the film had to postpone its release from end-2016, and had a delayed release yesterday. The movie stars Prabhas, Rana Dagubbati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishan, Nasser, and Rohini.
