Piku leads Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone will be a part of Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film, directed by first time director Honey Singh. Padukone will reportedly play a mafia queen in the film.
The film is reportedly an adaptation of journalist S Hussain Zaidi’s novel Mafia Queens of Mumbai; and will trace Rahima Khan aka Sapna Didi’s journey. Irrfan plays the man who helps her take on mafia don Dawood Ibrahim.
Vishal Bhardwaj told IANS, “Deepika has been asking me to write a script for her for a long time. She heard this script and loved it. We are in an advance stage of discussion with her.”
