Actor Dhanush has won the paternity case that was filed against him by a Madurai couple. The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court dismissed the claims made by an elderly couple, Kathiresan and Meenakshi, who had approached the court last year, claiming that Dhanush was their son, and demanding a monthly maintenance of Rs 60,000 from the actor.

Dhanush had then moved the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court following summons to appear before a Melur court, based on the couple’s petition. He requested that the case be quashed citing lack of evidence, and termed it as a bid to extract money from him. The actor had also refused to undergo a DNA test citing privacy.
Meanwhile, Dhanush’s directorial debut, Pa Paandi, has been well-received by the audience and critics alike. The actor is now awaiting the release of VIP 2.
