Two big-budget films with star cast – Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale – are battling it out at box office today. Dilwale, directed by Rohit Shetty, is already a hot favourite among movie-goers, thanks to its lead pair, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Also, the film, on Thursday, won a court battle against the former, said a DNA report.
Eros International had released Bajrangi Bhaijaan this Eid, and at the time of release, they had laid down a pre-condition before single screen theatres owners. Apparently, if they wanted to screen Bajrangi, they would have to screen Bajirao Mastani too on its release. However, after Dilwale’s release date was announced, the exhibitors filed a case against Eros, saying this pre-condition was unfair. A Bombay sessions court which heard the case ruled in favour of the exhibitors, and said that the theatre owners were free to screen any movie that they wish to.
