Kaala went on the floors in Mumbai today. Through an official press release, Wunderbar Films announced the official cast and crew of the project.
Actors Suganya, Nana Patekar,Eshwari Rao, Aravind Akash, Samuthirakani, Sampath, Sayaji Shinde, Ramesh Thilak have all been given pivotal roles in the film. As reported earlier, Huma Qureshi plays the female lead while Anjali Patil has a major role as well.
Murali G takes care of the cinematography for this film that has lyrics by Kabilan and Umadevi. Santhosh Narayanan composes the music for this production that marks Wunderbar Film’s 12th and Rajinikanth’s 164th film respectively.

Rajinikanth reportedly plays Karikalan, a Tamil gangster who becomes a protector of the Tamil people. Set in Mumbai, the film aims to show the plight of the Thirunelveli Tamils who settled in the area. Rajinikanth and Ranjith’s last film Kabali was themed on the life and struggles of Malaysian Tamils.
