Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan has reportedly signed up for her next film with director PS Mithran. The actress is debuting in the Tamil film industry with Dulquer Salmaan’s Vaan,
Mithran who debuted with Vishal starrer Irumbu Thirai/Abhimanyadu is currently directing a film starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. Today, the film’s production house announced that actress Kalyani Priyadarshan will be playing the female lead in the film.

Currently titled SK15, the film is produced by RD Raja under the banner 24 AM Studios. While the film was officially announced last November, it is slated to go on floors very soon. Arjun Sarja will reportedly be playing the antagonist in the film. His role might be similar to that of the one in Irumbu Thirai.
The film, said to be a racy thriller with a social message, will have music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and cinematography by George C Williams. Antony L Ruben is the editor. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. About working with Sivakarthikeyan, Mithran earlier told Silverscreen: “We have known each other since 2010 when we worked together on a short film. We have always wanted to make a feature film, but it never took off because Irumbu Thirai got delayed – we started filming in 2016 and it released only in 2018. Sivakarthikeyan and I started discussing the new project after the release of Irumbu Thirai.”

Kalyani is the daughter of veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. She made her acting debut with Telugu film Hello. She will soon be seen in Sai Dharam Tej’s Chitralahari, and Sharwanand-Sudheer Varma’s gangster film. It is also said that the she will be seen playing an important role in an upcoming multi-lingual film directed by her father.
Meanwhile, according to a report in The News Minute, Sivakarthikeyan’s project with Ravi Kumar has been put on hold at the moment due to budget constraints. It is also said that Rakul Preet Singh will be the female lead, where she will be seen playing an astronomer in the film.
