A release date for Jigarthanda will be announced this week. Actor Siddarth who plays the main lead in the film, confirmed the news through a post on Twitter. The movie has been censored (U/A) and awaiting release for a long time. Earlier this week, reports of a difference of opinion between director Karthik Subbaraj and producer S Kathiresan were cited as the reason for the delay. Sources tell us that talks are on to resolve the issue and release the movie as soon as possible.
Siddharth also revealed that the final decision on the release date will be taken by producer S Kathiresan. The film is about the Madurai mafia and is billed as a ‘musical gangster’ story. Santhosh Narayanan’s music is said to be the highlight of the film. Jigarthanda stars Lakshmi Menon, Bobby Simhaa and Karunakaran in lead roles.
