Actress Monal Gajjar, who was last seen in Tamil in Vaanavaraayan Vallavaraayan, has been signed to play the female lead in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit Memories. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Monal confirmed that she would be joining a photoshoot for the movie on September 25, and will be shooting for the movie sometime from October.

Earlier, Mia George, Nikki Galrani and Accham Enbadhu Madamaiyada fame Manjima Mohan were being considered for the role.
Actor Arulnithi will be playing the lead role, which was donned by Prithviraj in the original. Sri Thenandal Films will be producing this movie, which will be helmed by director Arivazhagan.
Arivazhagan’s previous work Eeram received critical acclaim and fared well at the box office, while Vallinam did a middling business at the box office.
Memories, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is a crime thriller film in which Prithviraj was seen as a cop.
