About working with Sivakarthikeyan, Mithran earlier told Silverscreen: “We have known each other since 2010 when we worked together on a short film. We have always wanted to make a feature film, but it never took off because Irumbu Thirai got delayed – we started filming in 2016 and it released only in 2018. Sivakarthikeyan and I started discussing the new project after the release of Irumbu Thirai.”
Meanwhile, a report in The News Minute says that Sivakarthikeyan’s project with Ravi Kumar has been put on hold at the moment due to budget constraints. It is also said that Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead, as an astronomer in the film. Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for Mr Local directed by Rajesh, starring Nayanthara in the lead. The film is said to hit the screens on May 1.
The actor also has films with directors R Ravikumar, Siva and Vignesh Sivan. They are currently in various stages of production.
