The working title of the film is Project – K.

On Friday, Bachchan had taken to Twitter and informed his fans he would start shooting for a new film the next day. He is the first person to begin shooting his portions for the film. Prabhas took to Instagram on Saturday and shared a photo of himself doing the first clap for a scene featuring Bachchan.

The shooting schedule of Padukone and Prabhas is yet to be known.

Padukone, who is also collaborating with Bachchan on the upcoming remake of the Hollywood film The Intern, will be making her Telugu debut with this sci-fi project. Sources say the film will not only be made in multiple Indian languages, but also in English and other foreign languages.

It is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, which also backed Nag Ashwin’s last feature film Mahanati. Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt are the co-producers on the project.

Announced in 2019, the film was expected to go on floors that September. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it was stalled.

Talking about Bachchan’s role in the film, Nag Ashwin had earlier said in a tweet that the actor plays a full-length role, and one so important that an early draft of the film was named after his character.
