SP Balasubrahmanyam At The 'Gurkha' Audio Launch

Singer-actor SP Balasubrahmanyam who was admitted to MGM Healthcare Hospital, Choolaimedu, on August 5 owing to mild symptoms of COVID19, has been on life support for the past week after his health deteriorated on the night of August 13. Amidst rumours and prayers, his son, singer-actor-producer SP Charan has been updating the public regularly to avoid unwarranted speculations about the Padma Vibushan’s health condition.

The latest is that the singer is receiving Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) treatment apart from being on life-support. The hospital has issued a health bulletin stating the same. It also added that the singer’s vital parameters are satisfactory at this point.

For the past three days, the singer has been stable but has been deemed critical by the doctors and healthcare experts. He is also conscious and has been gradually improving by the day. His clinical parameters are being carefully monitored and his breathing has seen significant improvement since the drop in his health.

Here is the latest video from SP Charan.
