Actress Parineeti Chopra has been approached to play the female lead in director Maneesh Sharma’s next, a romantic comedy along the lines of Sharma’s Shuddh Desi Romance. The actress is reportedly ironing out a few scheduling issues to make room for the project. Chopra is currently filming Meri Pyaari Bindu.
Ranveer Singh has been approached to play the other lead.
The film will be financed by Yash Raj Films, which has produced all of Sharma’s four films thus far.
Maneesh Sharma’s last film Fan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, did not do well at the box-office. By returning to Sharma’s tried-and-tested genre of lighthearted romance, Sharma will be hoping to reverse his box-office fortunes.
