Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan, who is currently filming Katamarayudu, the remake of Tamil film Veeram, will next be acting in the remake of Vedalam. The project was launched on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.
The project will be helmed by RT Neason, who directed Vijay’s 2014 film Jilla, and it will be produced by A M Rathnam. The shooting of the film is expected to take off once Pawan wraps up Katamarayudu.
The ‘mega-family’ seems to be in the mood for remakes as Chiranjeevi is shooting for Khaidi No 150, the remake of Tamil film Kaththi, his son Ram Charan is remaking Thani Oruvan in Telugu as Dhruva and Pawan Kalyan is doing 2 remakes of Ajith’s films back to back.

In Katamarayudu, Pawan will be seen as a Rayalaseema factionist. The shooting of the film commenced last month and was subsequently delayed due to the actor’s political commitments. The film is directed by Dolly, who previously directed the actor’s Gopala Gopala. The film was supposed to be directed by SJ Suryah, but he withdrew from the project to concentrate on his acting commitments in Tamil.
Katamarayudu will feature Shruti Haasan as the leading lady. Produced by Sharrath Marar, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, who composed music for the Tamil version as well. The film is slated to release next year.
