Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra won the People’s Choice Award for ‘favourite actress in a new series’ for her role in American thriller series Quantico. Chopra is the first south Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award.
Other actresses nominated for the award includes Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Marcia Gay Harden. People’s Choice Awards is an American awards show, which recognises people working in popular culture, voted on by the general public.
Chopra plays an FBI trainee named Alex Parrish in the series. She also presented the award for favourite action movie to Furious 7, along with actor John Stamos.
