Samantha Akkineni Has The Perfect Response For The Trolls

Samantha At The Irumbuthirai Success Meet

Samantha Akkineni, who got trolled for posting photos featuring her in beachwear, responded to her trolls on social media. The actress put up a picture of a middle finger directed towards “everyone who thought they had a say” in how she should lead her post-marriage life.

People apparently took offence at the fact that Samantha, who got married into the Akkineni household, seen wearing such attire would bring disgrace to the family. A man had commented, “Pls don’t post dis type of pics bcoz ur not samantharuthprabhu ur the daughter in law of Akkineni family” (sic).

Recently, Rashmika Mandanna, who was engaged to actor Rakshit Shetty, was severely trolled on social media after videos from her movie Geetha Govindam surfaced. The videos showed her romancing her co-star Vijay Devarakonda. Abuses were also directed at her after she broke off her engagement with Rakshit.

Mandanna’s has been an extreme case where she was trolled for many reasons. While some people trolled her for the mere fact that she chose to star opposite a Telugu actor after having made her debut in Kannada, others held the 22-year old responsible for the break-up with Rakshit Shetty and for having insulted him by acting in romantic scenes opposite Deverakonda.

Things escalated to a level where Shetty who was on a hiatus from social media had to come back and request the people to stop the abuse.

Another actress who went through a similar experience was Jyothika. She had to bear the brunt of haters when she was shown swearing in the trailer of the Bala-directed Naachiyaar. While a section of the audience was quick to laud the the scene, another section felt it wasn’t fitting for a woman to swear on screen.

Jyothika and Samantha are actresses who have been headlining movies and whose movies have been doing well at the box office too. Irrespective of their movie choices like 36 Vayadhinile, Magalir Mattum and U-Turn, the yardstick for judging actresses continue to be their choice of outfit and the conduct of the characters they portray.
