Sarath Kumar has now stepped into resolve the dispute between Lingaa’s distributors and producers. In his capacity as the President of the Nadigar Sangham, the actor met the distributors earlier this week, and promised to help them arrive at an amicable resolution. Singaravelan, who distributed the film in the Trichy region, confirmed the news and added, “Sarath sir will meet the Superstar to speak about the issue on Monday.”
With the intervention of Sarath, the demands of the distributors seem to have reduced too. A week ago, the distributors had rejected Rockline Venkatesh’s offer of ten percent compensation and instead demanded that they pay back the total losses endured by them. But now, we hear that Singaravelan and his team have agreed to settle for an amount of Rs 22 crores. The ‘Mega Pichchai’ event that the distributors had planned, to protest against the ill treatment meted out to them by the Lingaa team has also been put on hold. Said Singaravelan, “Now that things are changing, we’ve decided to put Mega Pichchai on hold for now. Once we get to know the result of Sarath sir’s meeting with the Superstar, then we’ll decide our next course of action.”
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth fan clubs all over the state have voiced their support for the beleaguered Superstar and have condemned the actions of the distributors. According to reports, if the Mega Pichchai event does go through, the fans will hold protests against the distributors on the same date.
