Actor Sasikumar, last seen in the sports-drama Kennedy Club, has started work on his next film titled MGR Magan, alongside Dubsmash-fame Mirnalini Ravi. Director Ponram, who is known for films such as Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan, will be directing this movie under the banner of Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
The shooting of MGR Magan commenced today at Theni with a simple ceremony. Director Ponram took to Twitter to share the news.

The movie also features actors Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthirakani and Singampuli in prominent roles. Vinoth Rathinasamy has been roped in for cinematography, Antony Daasan for music, Vivek Harshan for editing and Durairaj for art. Apart from direction, Ponram will also handle the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Meanwhile, Sasikumar whose Nadodigal 2 had its audio launch recently, has a slew of films in the pipeline, including Kombu Vecha Singamada, Paramaguru, Naa Naa, Adutha Saatai and Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta. Mirnalini, who has been receiving appreciation for her performance in the Telugu film Gaddalakonda Ganesh (earlier titled Valmiki), a remake of Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda, will next be seen in Suseenthiran’s Champion. She made her entry into the Tamil Industry with the critically acclaimed Super Deluxe, where she essayed the role of an alien, in the segment featuring a group of friends who want to watch porn, and the consequences they face.
