Sivakarthikeyan’s second production venture after Kanaa has been titled Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja. It is directed by Karthik Venugopalan of YouTube channel Black Sheep, and stars TV anchor Rio Raj in the lead.
Sivakarthikeyan reportedly wanted to produce a comedy film after Kanaa, and felt this one would be apt. Director Karthik was quoted in a Cinema Express report as saying, “It was Rio who informed him about our script. He then asked for a narration, without telling us that he was interested in bankrolling the project. But then, since he was looking to back a comedy script after Kanaa, he zeroed in on Nenjamundu Nermaiundu Odu Raja.”
“This will be a family-friendly laugh riot with a strong social message. It stars almost every member of my Black Sheep family,” he added. Shooting for the film completed last month, and post-production work is on. The filmmakers are considering an April release, and an announcement will be made soon.
The title was launched with a video, a spin off of Thiagarajan Kumaraja’s Super Deluxe trailer.
The film was announced by Sivakarthikeyan during the audio launch of Kanaa in August. The shoot for the movie happened in and around Chennai and Puducherry. It was recently reported that Saaga fame Shabir will compose music, set to lyrics by RJ Vignesh, AP Raja, Kumaran Kumanan.
Cinematography is by UK Senthil, and editing is by Fenny Oliver of Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi’s Meesaya Murukku fame. Actors Varnika, Vigneshkanth, Raj Mohan, Shirin Kanchwala, Nanjil Sampath and Radha Ravi have important roles.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming acting projects are Mr Local with Nayanthara in the lead, Ravikumar’s sci-fi film starring Rakul Preet Singh and Isha Koppikar, and an untitled film with director Pandiraj.
