Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has recorded the intro song for Rajinikanth in director AR Murugadoss’ Darbar, composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
SPB has been integral to many Rajinikanth hits. He sang the intro song ‘Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalali’ for Muthu, ‘Athanda Ithanda’ for Arunachalam, ‘Naan Autokaaran’ for Baasha, and ‘Kadavul Padachan’ for Pokkiri Raja. Recent Rajinikanth-starrers Kabali and Kaala didn’t feature an SPB song. However, he sang a few lines in the Petta intro song earlier this year, but fans felt that he was not given his due. He is now back in Darbar with a song he has voiced entirely, reports India Glitz.
The film recently wrapped the first schedule of shoot. The team will be travelling to Mumbai once again for the second 90-day schedule on May 29.
Rajinikanth reportedly plays a dual role in the film, which has Nayanthara as the heroine. It is speculated that he will be seen as an encounter specialist in one role. It is said that the second role is inspired by Manikkam from Baasha. Nivetha Pethuraj plays his daughter in the movie. Actor Dalip Tahil plays a senior officer, and Prateik Babbar is the antagonist. Yogi Babu, Bollywood actors Pradeep Kabra and Jatin Sarna are part of the cast.
