The violence over the Cauvery water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, has died down since its surge over the weekend. Bangalore, which saw most damage to property, has returned to normalcy. With celebrities from both states and beyond appealing for peace, Kamal Haasan expressed his anguish with this foresighted tweet:
நாம் மொழியற்ற குரங்குகளாயிருந்த போதும் காவிரி ஓடியது.நமக்குப் பின்னும் அது ஓடும். சரித்திரக்கமண்ணாடியில் முகம் பாரத்து வெட்க வேண்டி வரும்

It translates to mean: The Cauvery ran through our lands when we were just monkeys and did not know any language. It will continue to flow the same way even after we are dead. When we look back at our history later, we will feel ashamed of our actions.
Although most of the prominent actors from the Tamil film industry have not taken sides on the issue, many have voiced their concerns about the raging violence in Karnataka. Actor Vijay Sethupathi looked emotionally strained in a video requesting people to stay calm and not indulge in violent activities.
Kamal Haasan, who has been recuperating from a leg fracture he suffered in July, recently tweeted that he would resume working for Sabash Naidu in November.
Doctors say I am fit to work from Nov possibly. All that love does heal faster. Thanks folks. I’ll return that love via Naidu/Kundu & more

The actor also has been posting a two-part blog about his ‘near miss’ fall that occurred on the 14 July at his Eldams Road office.
