The upcoming film will be backed by producer Srinivasaa Chitturi under his Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. This will be Naga Chaitanya’s 22nd outing as an actor and thus, the yet-to-be titled movie is tentatively referred to as NC 22. It is also Venkat Prabhu’s 11th film and will be presented by Pavan Kumar.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, a source in the know, who wishes to remain anonymous, says about the project, “The shooting for this film will commence mostly by this summer, May or June, but the date has not yet been confirmed. The location scouting is currently on and the team is also zeroing in on the rest of the cast and crew.”

“The film will be made simultaneously in both languages and it is set to be the biggest project in Naga Chaitanya’s career in terms of the budget. It will be a pakka (complete) commercial entertainer,” the source further adds.

It is to be noted that the bilingual, which marks the first collaboration of the actor and director, will mark the Tamil debut of Naga Chaitanya and the Telugu debut of Venkat Prabhu.

The filmmaker, who has only worked in Tamil cinema thus far, last directed the recently-released adult romantic comedy Manmatha Leelai. His film before that, the Silambarasan-starrer Maanaadu, was a huge critical and commercial success.

While not much is known about his upcoming bilingual with Chaitanya, it is billed as a commercial entertainer that will feature known actors.

Meanwhile, Chaitanya will be making his Hindi debut shortly with Laal Singh Chaddha, the remake of Forrest Gump that is led by Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is slated to release on August 11, just ahead of the Independence Day weekend.

Chaitanya also has the Telugu film Thank You in the pipeline and is set to make his debut in the OTT space with a web series helmed by Vikram K Kumar.
