The film released in India on Thursday and made Rs 2.35 crores at the box-office on its opening day. This was followed by collections of Rs 2.15 crores and Rs 4 crores on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The numbers for Sunday are not out yet.

The boost, according to the Box Office India report, came from the holiday weekend of Gandhi Jayanti, and it might help the film cross the Rs 11 crore mark.

No Time to Die marks Daniel Craig’s exit from the franchise after five appearances as James Bond.

While the film did not cross Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it performed particularly well in Delhi NCR (National Capital Region) and East Punjab. Box Office India states that the collections of No Time to Die are mainly due to Delhi and Punjab being in a better position than three weeks ago as more people return to the theatres.

Shang-Chi crossed the Rs 10 crore mark in its opening three-day weekend, and brought a respite for Indian theatres that were struggling after Covid-19 shutdowns.

No Time to Die opened internationally in 54 markets on Thursday, and garnered $119 million worldwide. It is the first Hollywood title to have crossed the $100 million mark without a China release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the film features actors Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris, alongside Craig as Agent 007.

The film, which suffered multiple delays, smashed Imax records and set the best opening weekend for a Bond film in 24 countries, including Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Italy, reported THR.

In addition to this, No Time to Die earned $11.4 million in UK and Ireland on Saturday, making it the highest single-day box office collections for any film in the series, as well as the highest single-day collections since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
