Actor Silambarasan aka Simbu will play lead in actor-director-politician Seeman’s next directorial. Simbu was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which gave him a good reach, he has signed up for many films after this.
In a recent interview, leader of Naam Tamizhar party, Seeman, told that his next directorial will have actor Simbu in the lead. The expectation is that the film will be on a political subject, in line with Seeman’s other films. He said, “You all know on what subject I will make the film considering the current scenario.”
There are reports that the film might by titled Pagalavan. Vijay was supposed to play lead, but the project didn’t take off because of creative differences and other reasons. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, lead actor Simbu will star as a doctor for the first time in a film. Talks are on with Anirudh Ravichander to compose music for the film.
Simbu is currently working on the final schedule of Sundar C’s action comedy Vandha Rajavathaan Varuven. He also has Maanadu with Venkar Prabhu, which is a political drama. He will reportedly be seen as a martial arts expert in the film, and will be traveling to Bangkok for special training for the role.
He also has a yet-to-be titled film with director Gautham Menon, which has music by AR Rahman, and another film with director Karthik Naren.

Seeman has directed films like Thambi, for which he won State Award for Best Dialogues, Vazhthukkal, and many other films. He was last seen playing a cameo in director Vicky’s Traffic Ramasamy.
His upcoming acting project is Thavam, by debutant directors Vijay Anand and Suriyan. He will be seen as Natesan, a teacher who fights for the poor farmers of his village. He also reportedly performs Silambam in the film.
