Actor Vijay Sethupathi will play a significant role in director Vetrimaaran’s next project, an upcoming Tamil film based on a short story. The film already has actor and comedian Soori in the lead cast.
Written by Bipin Ragu and Dhilip, adapting Unni R’s original story, Maara begins like a frame narrative, a folktale retold to a little girl, with a near mythical connect (though this prologue ends with a myth that could have been avoided – placing a metal object in the hands of a person having a seizure).
Maara, starring actors R Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 8 and has been linked to the hit Malayalam film Charlie (2015), which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy. However, speaking to Silverscreen India, Maara director Dhilip Kumar said that the film was not about remaking Charlie, but about capturing its feel-good mood.

Kathiresan of Five Star Creations and National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran will be joining hands after nearly 10 years for an upcoming film, starring Sasikumar in the lead role.

After bankrolling Dhanush starrer Asuran, Thanu’s V Creations will once again associate with the director for this film.

Director Vetrimaaran’s Asuran, starring Dhanush, Manju Warrier and others will have a worldwide release on October 4 2019, days before the Dussehra weekend.
Vetrimaaran may work with actor and comedian Soori for an upcoming film. The director is currently busy with the final stages of shoot for Dhanush and Manju Warrier-starrer Asuran.
