Dhanush’s Thodari is all set to release on 2 September. The film, which has Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead, is rumoured to be a romantic-thriller set on a moving train.

The movie is directed by Prabhu Solomon, and has Ganesh Venkatraman, Nasser, Karunakaran, Harish Uthaman, and Thambi Ramaiah playing supporting roles. D Imman is the music director of the film. The film had it’s audio launch on 6 June.

Initially, sources close to the film team, speculated an August release. But for reasons unknown, the date has been pushed to September.

Dhanush has many other projects in hand, including his upcoming movie with Gautham Menon, Enai noki paayum thota, started work early this year. The movie has been a low-key affair so far, with little being said about it. Dhanush is also currently working on a film with director Vetrimaran. Titled Vada Chennai, the movie chronicles the life of a gangster in North Chennai, over a span of 30 years. The movie, said to be a trilogy, stars Amala Paul and Andrea Jeremiah. The latest addition to the cast was actor Vijay Sethupathi.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports confirming that Dhanush will be seen in the Bollywood remake of Mani Ratnam’s Agni Natchathiram. The movie will be directed by director Bejoy Nambiar of Hindi/Tamil bilingual David fame.

Vikram starrer Iru Mugan is also expected to share its release date with Thodari. This has generated a lot of debate on social media sites, with fans debating over which film would beat the other at the box office.
