Director Bramma’s film, starring Jyothika, Saranya Ponvannan, Urvashi and Bhanupriya, explores the concepts of women empowerment and feminism through the lives of these four women who go on a road trip. The movie is jointly produced by Suriya under his 2D Entertainments with Christy Pictures, and Santhosh Narayanan is the music composer.

Filmmaker Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi has collaborated with composer Santhosh Narayanan for a music video that asks us to empathise with members of the transgender community. Expected to release on Valentines Day, this music video is different from most music others, and focuses on the life of transgender persons. The makers hope to spread more awareness through the video. The music video is titled Sadhaiyai Meeri, which translates to ‘Beyond the flesh’.

On board the Rajini-Ranjith team were Ranjith’s regulars – Santhosh Narayanan, G Murali, Praveen KL and a bunch of actors like Dinesh, Kalaiyarasan, and Rythvika. Fans were astounded. So were critics.
Its superstar all the way, he carries the film with his charm supported by the Santhosh Narayanan’s BGM. Emotional content works out. Few highlight scenes are Superstar’s intro, pre-interval block, Maya Nadhi lead scene and one action block. Overall Kabali is not an out and out Rajini movie neither fully realistic and raw Ranjith movie. Go with less expectations and enjoy.
Rajinikanth puts up a performance like never before. He looks dapper in a well fitted suits in pastel shades and his styling is top class – A big thumbs up to designer Anu Vardhan. The actor even at this age carries the film on his shoulder. It is the strong screen presence and sheer aura of the man that keeps us rooting for the film. Technically, Murali’s cinematography is top notch that he has shown Malaysia in a different angle. Santhosh Narayanan’s BGM elevates the film to a different level. Overall, Kabali is neither a Rajinikanth film nor a Ranjith film — it’s a mixed bag!
There’s no SPB here, with his larger-than-life vocals. There’s only Arunraja Kamaraj, Ananthu, and Santhosh Narayanan himself – infusing these songs with the kind of energy that only people who grew up idolising Rajini could have.For over two decades, the star has retained the trademark features his public loves – that unfailing swagger (or swag, as they call it now), those punch dialogues, and an SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) song.
Techcinally Iraivi is top notch, especially Sivakumar Vijayan’s visuals convey several hidden layers and genuinely capture the mood of the characters with ease. Music by Santhosh Narayanan is just ok but he scores with the BGM that it takes the film to a different level. On the whole, Iraivi may not be appealing to all. But Watch it once, for it bravely treads new ground.
Sivakumar Vijayan, best known for his artistic work in Irudhi Suttru and Vidiyum Munn, accentuates the mood of the film with his dimly-lit frames that explore the darkness of Karthik’s volatile characters. SJ Suryah is a revelation. He delivers a power-packed performance alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Anjali, who exhibit great composure with consummate ease. Santhosh Narayanan is yet another linchpin of the film. His background score enhances the atmosphere and his occasional pauses add magic to even the simplest of situations.
Technically, the film is held together by Madhi’s colorful visuals, especially in the superbly shot montages, and Santhosh Narayanan’s rousing background score that strikes a chord with audiences. Brownie points to director Ahmed for handling the source material with respect and not tampering it by adding hackneyed ideas in the name of adaptation. The dialogues, especially in the climax showdown between Prakash Raj and Udhay, have the power to tug at your heartstrings.

Ritika Singh the little stick of dynamite, the anger-spewing fisherwoman is a marvelous discovery. Her lip sync, body language and gait is a major highlight for the film. Rest of the cast in supporting roles like Nassar, Mumtaz, Zakir and others are all good.Another interesting aspect of Irudhi Suttru is Sudha Kongura’s raw dialogues and takings. Santhosh Narayanan’s music is undeniably another hero of the film. All the songs and background scores gel with the narration and also elevate emotions to a different level.
• The casting of the film is just perfect. After watching the film, we can’t think of any other actors who could have played these roles.
• Madhavan’s comeback is a strong one as he excels in playing the role of a coach. He has carried off this powerful role extremely well.
• Ritika Singh pulled off her character with so much ease that it’s hard to believe that it is her debut film. Indeed a knockout performance from her!
• Some exceptional work from music director Santhosh Narayanan. Be it the songs or BGM – it adds so much to the emotions of the film.
On the technical front, Santhosh Narayanan’s songs have been seamed into the narrative well and his RR comes out handy in bringing out the effective feel. Sivakumar Vijayan and Satish Suriya have taken care of cinematography and editing departments in a manner which work well with the story.
Director Selvaraghavan’s next is a horror film titled Nenjam Marappathillai. The film has SJ Suryah and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles, and actress Nanditha Shweta playing an important role. According to an IANS report, the project would be produced by director Gautham Vasudev Menon. Composer Santhosh Narayanan will score tunes for the film. The movie was launched in Chennai on January 28.

The official pooja of actor Vijay’s 60th film was help at a private hotel in Chennai on Monday. The film’s director, Bharathan, the producers from Vijaya Production house, and music director Santhosh Narayanan attended the function, which was conducted as a low-profile event.
The supporting cast for Kabali includes Radhika Apte, Prakash Raj, Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika, and Attakathi Dinesh. The upcoming Pa Ranjith–Rajinikanth film is likely to be titled Kannabiran, according to sources. Earlier reports had suggested that the title might be ‘Kaali’. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, director Ameer currently holds the rights of the title ‘Kannabiran’, but being a big Rajinikanth fan himself, would be happy to hand over the title.
