Abhishek Bachchan (40) Reportedly Thinks Aishwarya (43) Isn’t Young Enough For His Film

Contrary to rumours that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would star in Abhishek Bachchan’s next film, the science-fiction thriller Lefty, an industry source told Deccan Chronicle that Abhishek Bachchan wanted a “fresh, young face” to play the female lead. Lefty will begin production in mid January, and will be helmed by Prabhu Deva. Bunty Walia and Abhishek Bachchan are bankrolling the film.

After Baahubali’s success, everyone seems to want to work with SS Rajamouli. The latest addition in that list is Abhishek Bachchan, who while promoting his Hindi flick, All Is Well, said that he’d love to work with Rajamouli, and that he’s also a great fan of Prabhas. Abhishek Bachchan in Chennai

Abhishek Bachchan will be the chief guest at the 17th Gollapudi Srinivas National Award function. The event will be held on August 11 at the Music Academy and will see Chetan Bhagat, Madhavan, Mahesh Manjrekar and Bombay Jayashri as the guests of honour. Chetan Bhagat will present the memorial lecture at the event while Bombay Jayashree, Rajiv Menon and Karthik will showcase their latest collaboration – a tribute to south Indian film music, titled The Scent of Vinyl.

Mani Ratnam, whose film Kaatru Veliyidai recently released to mixed reviews, is likely to cast Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in his next project, reports the Deccan Chronicle. The outlet quotes a source saying that the director has been planning a third project with the duo for a while now. Mani Ratnam has previously worked with them on Guru and Raavan.
