Adhik Ravichandran Unhappy With Censor Trimming Of Trisha Illana Nayanthara

Debutant director Adhik Ravichandran, whose film Trisha Illana Nayanthara is ready to release on September 17, has criticised the censor board’s decision to cut short two scenes even after the movie had been awarded an ‘A’ certificate after muting some dialogues. The director tweeted to allege that he was aware of certain persons acting against the film’s interests.

A Certificate For Trisha Illana Nayanthara

Music director turned actor GV Prakash’s second film Trisha Illana Nayanthara was given an A certificate yesterday, after muting certain dialogues. Directed by newcomer Adhik Ravichandran, the film is now cleared to release on September 17 as planned. The filmmakers had announced the September 17 date after Puli postponed its release. Trisha Plays 20-Year Old In Nayagi

Actress Trisha will be playing a 20-year old in the upcoming horror film Nayagi, directed by Goverdhan (Govi). According to an IANS report, Trisha has been working on her image to look younger on screen, and has dropped a couple of kilos for the part. The first look posters depicted Trisha in a retro 1980s look, and the director confirmed that this would be her image through the entire movie. A leading make-up artist along with a costume designer to design Trisha’s clothes have been hired.

Trisha To Sing In Nayagi

Trisha, who has been an actress for over 12 years, will now debut as a singer in her upcoming film Nayagi. At the film’s pooja held earlier today, music director Raghu Kunche said that Trisha would sing a song in the film. Trisha added, “Even in interviews, I used to refuse requests to sing even a few lines, because I was afraid of singing. But now, the pressure is on Raghu to make sure the song sounds good.”

Trisha’s Nayaki: First Look Posters Unveiled

The first look posters of actress Trisha’s upcoming film Nayaki with director Govi Goverdhan were unveiled yesterday on Twitter. The actress sported a retro heroine look in the posters. The official pooja of the movie will take place on August 20 in Chennai. Nayaki is a horror comedy and will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu.

Kamal Haasan And Trisha To Trade Blows In Cheekati Rajyam

Cheekati Rajyam, an official remake of the French film Sleepless Night, will have a realistic action sequence with lead actors Kamal Haasan and Trisha exchanging blows. The scene unfolds in the kitchen of a restaurant, and according to a source, Trisha will surprise audiences with her performance. The film is currently at the post-production stage. Both Kamal and Trisha play police officers in the film. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Kishore, Sampath Raj, Asha Sharrath, and Madhu Shalini. Produced by Raaj Kamal International, the film has music composed by Ghibran. Cheekati Rajyam will simultaneously release in Tamil as Thoongaavanam.

Trisha Says No To Politics

Actress Trisha has squashed reports that suggested she would venture into politics by joining Chief Minister J Jayalalitha’s AIADMK party. The rumours had surfaced after she had uploaded a cover picture some time ago, depicting her with Jayalalitha. The rumours died down only to re-surface, with Trisha being questioned on the sets about her supposed decision to join politics. The actress subsequently tweeted:

Ganesh Venkatraman Approached for Trisha’s Next Film

It was reported in March that Trisha’s next film will be helmed by Govi and produced by her manager Giridhar, under his banner Giridhar Production House. The Tamil- Telugu bilingual film is touted to be a horror film. Deccan Chronicle now reports that Ganesh Venkatraman has been approached to play the male lead opposite Trisha in the film, but is yet to sign on the dotted line.

Trisha Rides the Metro

Actress Trisha enjoyed a ride on the Chennai metro yesterday, having boarded the morning train at 7.30 am from Alandur station. The actress was reportedly ‘surprised’ by the standards of Chennai Metro. In an interview to TOI, she recalled her memories of shooting Manmadhan Ambu on the metro trains of Europe. She also declared that Chennai Metro ‘is on par with international standards’ and that she is a proud Chennaiite.
