The team behind National Award Winning movies Maheshinte Prathikaaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum are coming together with another movie and this time it is special. As announced earlier, the film titled Kumbalangi Nights is penned by Shyam Pushkaran, who also wrote Maheshinte Prathikaram. He is also co-producing the film with Dileesh Pothan.
The most part of the film unfurls in Majeed’s lower middle-class household in Malappuram, and two petite old women, his mother and a neighbour, become the co-anchors of the plot along with him and Samuel.In Sudani From Nigeria, they slowly emerge from the background, and what stays the longest in mind after watching the film is the the aura of inner strength and compassion these women wear. Jameela, who shares a strained relationship with her son, is delighted to have Samuel home.

The first look of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie with director Amal Neerad was released on Thursday, on the occasion of the actor’s 30th birthday. In the untitled movie, the actor plays Aji Mathew, a young communist from Pala town in Kottayam.

Actor-director Prathap Pothen is all set to don the director’s cap again, after a gap of 20 years. The Malayalam project has Dulquer Salman in the lead, and will start rolling in July, said a Nowrunning report. Director Anjali Menon has penned the screenplay for this film, which will have camera cranked by Rajeev Menon and music scored by Ilaiyaraja.
