Producer Boney Kapoor has been acquitted in a plagiarism case regarding the Salman Khan film, Wanted. The case was filed in 2010 by petitioner Birbal Singh Rana, a Meerut-based writer-director. Rana had alleged that the script for his film Raja Bhai IPS was plagiarised and used in Wanted. Subsequently, a local court in Meerut had booked Kapoor, Sridevi, director Prabhudeva, and Salman Khan on copyright infringement and plagiarism charges.

Actor Dhanush has sought the Madras High Court regarding a case against him filed by an elderly couple claiming that he is their son. In his petition, Dhanush denies being their son and calls it a ‘case of blackmailing’ from the couple’s side. The actor vehemently denies being their son, clarifying that he was born Venkatesh Prabhu to Krishnamoorthy and Vijayalakshmi at the Children’s Hospital in Egmore, Chennai, on July 28, 1983, and changed his name after entering the film industry.

Actor Akshaye Khanna is the frontrunner to play the role of Sunil Dutt in Rajkumar HIrani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt. 41-year-old Khanna was on a four year hiatus before returning to films with Dishoom (2016), where he played the antagonist.Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Sanjay Dutt, the actor who was convicted under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in April 1993.

Jhanvi Kapoor Likely To Make Film Debut With ‘Sairat’ Remake

Jhanvi Kapoor, the daughter of Actress Sridevi and Producer Boney Kapoor, is reportedly making her acting debut with a Karan Johar film. Boney Kapoor told DNA, “Yes, Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we’ve given consent. But we don’t know which project it would be. Since Karan has recently acquired the remake rights of Sairat it is being presumed that our daughter would be launched in this project.”

Janani Iyer Plays Shenbagavalli In Balloon

Actress Janani Iyer has joined the cast of Balloon, starring Jai and Anjali. The horror film, directed by debutant Sinish will have two story lines – one set in 1989 and the other set in the present day. Speaking to Silverscreen, Janani revealed that she plays a character named, Shenbagavalli. Her character will be seen with Jai in the 80’s portions of the film. “Though I cannot reveal much, I think it would be safe to say that i would have a retro look, something on the lines of Sridevi from Moondram Pirai.” said Janani.
