Disney+ Hotstar, the streaming platform, announced a new slate of original series as well as renewals on Tuesday. The line-up includes the medical drama Human, starring Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari; the murder mystery Six Suspects, led by Pratik Gandhi and Richa Chadha; and the supernatural thriller Fear 1.0, starring Tisca Chopra, Saurabh Shukla and Rajesh Tailang.

Actor Jayam Ravi’s most recent blockbuster Comali will re-release in Malaysian theatres from July 9. The film helmed by debutant Pradeep Ranganathan will run in various Lotus Five Star (LFS) Cinemas screens resuming operations on that day across Malaysia. The multiplex chain has also announced that the film will be screening for free at all locations in an attempt to pull audiences to the screens after the Covid19 necessitated hiatus.

Actors Jiiva, Arjun Sarja, and Raashi Khanna have been roped in to play the lead roles in lyricist-actor-producer-director Pa Vijay’s next film. Methavi is the third directorial of Pa Vijay after Strawberry (2015) and Aaruthra (2018). The first look of the film was launched on Friday. With Jiiva and Arjun on either side, the title Methavi finds its place in the middle of the poster. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Jodhpur court on Thursday in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The four other co-accused stars – Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam — were acquitted of all charges.
Salman, 52, was found guilty under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 for killing two blackbucks, an endangered species, hunting of which is prohibited by the law. The incident took place in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.
